Yup totally get it not being your style! I think it was the right fic at the right time and it had a huge impact on me at the time. I looked for the part that really got me when I was writing up this answer and, while I still liked it, it didn't have the same oomph as it did 1.5 years ago. I definitely see how it isn't your style! I'm super glad I read it when I did. That's actually a lot like Chanel Miller's statement to the Stanford rapist for me, actually. Reading her victim impact statement when it first came out in 2016 completely rocked my world and changed my perspective. It would still have been a profoundly gut-wrenching thing for me to read at any other point in my life, but it was pivotal for me at the time. I'm sure you've probably seen it around, but I would highly recommend her memoir Know My Name as well! Although big TW for sexual assault and how the legal system treats victims of assaults. =(
Snow globes sound so much fun but they must have been hard to transport! Oooh I should start collecting magnets because I actually use them on my fridge lol. The only magnet I have right now is one from travel but it was a trinket I meant to give someone else and kept instead lol.
